Cancellation Policy
Because of the seasonal nature of our business, cancellations affect us significantly. Guests must notify York Beach Surf Club (“YBSC”) at least 30 days prior to their scheduled arrival date of a cancellation in order to receive a full refund of their deposit and avoid a cancellation fee. Notifications made 14-29 days prior to the scheduled arrival date will result in a refund of the deposit, minus a $25 cancellation fee. The deposit is non-refundable for any cancellation made less than 14 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
The pre-pay rate is non-refundable.
*Disclaimer: Reservations booked through our third party sites, follow our deposit requirements as specified by YBSC. Any cancellations or changes to a reservation MUST be made directly through the party in which you booked.
Parking
We offer 1 complimentary parking space per room for lodging Guests only, which is included in the resort fee. Each additional vehicle (including day Guest) is $25 per vehicle/per day. Each Vehicle MUST register with YBSC and have a parking pass visible inside each vehicle while on the property or risk the vehicle being towed at the owner's expense.
Check-In/Check-Out
Check-In: 4:00 PM

*Due to our limited parking, cars MUST be moved at the time of check-out.
Deposits, Fees and Reservations
A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required & payable at the time of booking to confirm all reservations. Reservations of 7 or more nights will require a deposit equal to half of the entire stay. The balance of the reservation is due and payable upon arrival.
Credit card deposits (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) will be processed at the time the reservation is made. Reservation deposits paid by check will be guaranteed upon receipt of funds by YBSC.
Please note that YBSC requires an EMV/Chip credit card upon arrival. Upon check-in, the YBSC will obtain a credit card authorization for the full amount of Room & Tax, less the deposit or other prepayment amount.
Incidentals
A $75 hold for incidental charges for the 1st night, and a hold of $50 for each additional night. Please allow your bank/credit card company 5-7 business days after checkout to return any unused balance from the incidental hold. If your room was prepaid, then only the incidental hold will be required at check-in.
Resort Fee
The YBSC offers a selection of inclusive benefits via a resort fee of $15 per room, per night. The fee helps us provide our Guests with an ample resort experience, including access to our saline pool, our manicured lawns and seating areas, fire-pits, resort-wide WiFi, local calling and easy complimentary self-parking (one car per reservation).
*Rates and conditions are subject to change without prior notification. Rates are exclusive of tax and gratuity. A minimum night stay may be required.
No Show Charges
Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card will result in a No-Show fee being charged to your credit card. You will only be charged the first night, one (1) night’s full room rate plus taxes, and the balance of the reservation will be canceled. The York Beach Surf Club is not responsible for any third party bookings in which the check-in date is wrong. [NTD: So if you cancel late or not at all, you only risk your deposit, cancellation fee and one night stay, not the entire stay?]
Housekeeping
YBSC offers housekeeping service daily between 10am and 3pm at no additional charge for our rooms. We offer one scheduled housekeeping service for bungalow rentals per a 7-night stay. Daily trash pickup, sheets, blankets, and towels, toilet paper are included with bungalow rentals. Do not disturb signs are available if no housekeeping service is desired.
Age
All Guests must be over the age of 21 to check-in. Valid photo identification will be required upon check-in.
Pets
YBSC has a limited number of selected rooms that are specifically Fido Friendly/Service animal rooms. These rooms must be booked directly with YBSC at an additional cost of $50 per day for one pet under 50lbs and $25 for up to one more additional pet under 50lbs.
Under the American Disabilities act, we do allow certified service animals that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. (service animals fee waived only with proper identification per pet).
- Pets must be fully house-trained and appropriately restrained by Guest.
- Pets must comply with local legislation requirements.
- Pets must be kept on a leash while in or on the hotel property, except only while in the Guest's room.
- Pets must NOT be left unattended. If a Guest requires a pet-sitter or pet supplies, they should contact the front desk with advance notice to be connected to a 3rd party service.
- Pets are NOT allowed in any food and beverage outlets and pool areas of the hotel. This exclusion is NOT applicable to guide dogs.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet on hotel property and in the neighborhood.
- Any disturbances such as barking must be immediately curtailed to ensure other Guests are not inconvenienced.
- Guests must contact the housekeeping department to arrange for a convenient time for servicing their room.
- Guests are solely responsible for all property damage and/or personal injury resulting from their pet.
- Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless YBSC, its owners and its operator from all liability and damages of any kind or character suffered as a result of the Guest's pet.
- YBSC reserves the right to charge the Guest's account commensurate to the cost of such damages and can have the Guest and their pet(s) escorted from the premises at any time.
Damage to Property
Guests are responsible for any damage or loss they cause to the property. Guests will be charged for damage to property or charged cleaning fees for damaged, destroyed, or excessively soiled towels, linens, and other soft goods. You will be charged for any damage to the hotel’s property caused by you or by your guests. For full property reservations and in other situations under management’s discretion, damage and security deposit will be required. Also see “No Smoking, No Candles, No Incense, etc.” this includes Marijuana or anything else consumed/inhaled by burning and/or heating.
Non-Smoking Property
The York Beach Surf Club is a Non-Smoking property this includes cigarettes, e-cigarette, vaping, marijuana (the “Policy”). This Policy, as with all others, is strictly enforced and includes all common areas, balconies, restaurants, pool area unless designated. The YBSC team has been trained to respond to violations of the Policy. For example, housekeepers are trained to observe signs of smoking in guest rooms.
Guests are reminded at the time of booking and upon arrival at the hotel that smoking is not permitted inside the building. Pre-arrival email notifications also include a reference to the Policy. A significant room recovery fee will be assessed against all Guests who do not comply with the Policy. This fee is charged in order to offset the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms to a smoke-free condition. Policy violation fees start at $500 per offense.
Desk Hours and After-Hours Service
The YBSC is a non-hosted facility. Management and staff are available onsite between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to tend to your needs.
Quiet Hours
Please show respect for other Guests and keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. We are a small hotel. Guests who disturb other Guests will be escorted from the property without a refund of any kind.
